Re-fashioning a culture of ethical consumerism.

Ethical Essentials Spreading HOPE in the World

Ethical Essentials Spreading HOPE in the World

One of the main reasons that people struggle to create an ethical wardrobe is not knowing where to start, or how to replace their old clothes with new ones. I've found that the easiest way to start transforming your wardrobe is to first replace the essentials. However, as someone who is guilty of solely owning monochrome pieces, I found it hard to find ethically made basics to stock my closet. Earlier last year, I stumbled upon an emerging brand that gave me hope, literally.

Hope Made in the World is an ethical clothing brand co-founded by Sara Milanes. Taking pride in being, "a brand for all seasons," HOPE produces ethically made t-shirts, scarves, long sleeves, and even button-ups, for both male and female ethical consumers. Connecting designers and artisans from Peru, the United States, Colombia, and Italy, their team strives to source the most sustainable materials and practices to construct their pieces.

What truly sets their manufacturing apart, however, is their production schedule. Instead of producing three or four seasons a year, like some larger retailers, HOPE prides themselves on creating more intentional and versatile collections, once or twice a year, eliminating as much waste as possible.
