Keeping the Faith with Compassion International
Compassion (/kem’paSHen/) noun: sympathy and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others.
As human beings, we innately feel compassion for others’ sufferings, however, it is the action that we take, being the hands and feet to serve others, that truly changes lives.
Compassion International provides opportunities that encourage healthy development for children around the world in four areas — spiritual, physical, social and economic. “Holistic child development means we begin, in some cases, with prenatal care and go all the way through leadership development for qualified young adults. It means we take a long-term approach to what we do and go beyond simple involvement in the lives of the children and families we serve.”
Many of the children that are part of Compassion’s programs are experiencing extreme poverty, exposure to dangerous diseases and illnesses, lack of family support or care, and limited access to education. Through sponsoring a child, you are making a monthly donation to support the well-being, and advancement of a child’s life.
This week, Sevenly’s Keep the Faith campaign is helping to release children from spiritual, economic, social, and physical poverty by donating to Compassion International. We have already sponsored our first child, a five-year-old boy named Thacien from Rwanda, Africa. While Thacien is lucky enough to have both of his parents in his life, they are not always employed and stable enough to support their two children. Thacien enjoys caring for animals around him, playing hide and seek, and learning about God.
We are asking that you join us in our goal of sponsoring 25 Children for one whole year along side our friends at Compassion International. We can ensure that they are on track to receive an education, health, the vitality of faith, and the ability to lift themselves out of poverty. You can be a vessel of Mercy.
We can change the world, one person at a time. And that matters.
