Because She Could: Celebrating Women’s History Month
March is Women’s History Month and while it seems like women have been very visible in the public square each month this year, Sevenly’s “Because She Could” Collection shines a light on some of the ideas inspiring women to change the world in epic ways.
March 8th is celebrated as International Women’s Day, which highlights the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. This year, the campaign has been named #BeBoldForChange, empowering women leaders to declare their bold actions and show their support for the advancement of women and their voices and actions in the world arena. Visiting the IWD site gives women many options to get involved. Sevenly has committed to helping women through this campaign by supporting the YWCA, and its work in communities across the USA and worldwide.
In 1858, what is now known as the YWCA was first formed in New York City. Today that same organization exists, with over 150 years of community-building experience, and as a champion for women and girls. The YWCA offers health and safety programs, and much more that has advanced the status and work and lives of women. Their work embodies divergent opinion in a shared cause – and a steadfast view of how strong women are encouraged to help make our societies places of flourishing.
The collection provides inspiration for all women, those who strive to empower others, and those who cherish their empowerment from within. Celebrate this month with us in the words of Alice & Olivia’s founder Stacie Bendet, “Here’s to strong women: may we know them, may we be them, and may we raise them.” Proverbs 31 says that a woman is worth more than any treasure of this world. We all know it to be true, and that it’s worth celebrating!
