Providing Self-Help to those Battling Parkinson's Disease
“Living with Parkinson’s takes a certain amount of courage; living well takes a little bit more.” People effected by Parkinson’s know that it’s not about a passive approach. They determine to appreciate the life they have now and make every day the best they can make it to be. It requires a quiet, steadfast kind of heroism.
Sevenly’s new FIGHT PARKINSON’S Collection is aimed at providing self-help resources to those with Parkinson’s and their care givers. The work of The Davis Phinney Foundation has inspired us, because it has inspired (and helped) some of our friends. We’ve seen their impact firsthand.
Their “Every Victory Counts” approach is life-giving, and we want to help them make more resources available to people effected by Parkinson’s and the loved ones who help care for them, including their amazing (and free) resource guide that includes everything from simple victory ideas to exercise plans.
In the past, Sevenly has also funded the research efforts of The Michael J Fox Foundation. They are dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson’s through funded research and securing proven therapies for the future.
“Parkinson’s may sometimes be one step forward and two steps back,” Fox recently noted, “but I’ve learned that what’s important is making that step count.”
April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month and unites every one in working toward a future without Parkinson’s. It takes passion to make a difference – and to inspire people to hope, and to fight on.
These organizations are heroes in the fight against Parkinson’s, but none are heroes more than those who care for those in the fight for their lives, living with Parkinson’s.
Your friends at Sevenly want to encourage you (and those you love) to live your best life and enjoy every moment. Parkinson’s does not define a person by limitations – but reminds is all to live a life to its full potential. So wear your story, along with those you love
