1,000+ Volunteers Outfitted Free for Hurricane Relief

1,000+ Volunteers Outfitted Free for Hurricane Relief

Here at Sevenly, awe're wonderfully overwhelmed by the response we've had to The Hurricane Helpers Collection.  It has been amazing to outfit FREE more than 1,000 volunteers, including teams as well as individuals, to wear hope as they serve tens of thousands of displaced people and families in the wake of Harvey and Irma.

We are receiving messages of thanks every day. People are coming together to serve (and even save) one another in a time of need, with some messages of true heroism leaving us in tears.

Partners like Roma Boots are providing a free pair of boots for volunteers for each pair of boots purchased from the Collection.  Volunteers are wearing PEOPLE MATTER shirts and HOPE mobile wallets to carry a message of encouragement as they deliver aid.

Here's a sampling of messages from recent days.  Share this post to help us find more volunteers to outfit Free!

"I'm here in Houston. We are still evacuating people with boats a block away from me. I haven't been doing boat rides myself - I've been giving water bottles, hugs, and carrying bags for people as they get out of the boats. And also being available however I can.... Thank you, Sevenly, for being a blessing to my city and to those who are being a blessing to us!!" - E.H. Clarke

"This is incredible! As a Houstonian who was surrounded by flood wares for days, but came out without a drop in my house or car; I had to get out and help. I am coordinating volunteers for a rather large relief effort this weekend; next week, as waters hopefully recede in my area, we'll just pull up to strangers home and help them start the rebuild process. What you're doing is amazing! So much love and support coming from all over, thank you!" - L. Atkinson

"Hey there...my name is AJ McLeod and I live in Wylie, Texas. I left last Sunday evening with a boat for Houston and spent 3 days there with 2 of my buddies going all over the place getting men, women, children, and infants out of houses, apartments, and off of roofs. We slept a total of 4 hours the whole time we were there because there was so much to do that we couldn't just sit around and not be helping someone. It was one of the most devastating things I've ever seen, so many people in distress and just not enough people to do everything. I am leaving tomorrow evening when I get off work to head back down there and do whatever they need me to do to help. The only reason I came home after being there for 3 days is because I have my wife and 4 children at home who I had to hold and hug and just see in person after all that we had witnessed while down there. Anyways, Sevenly, sorry to take up so much of your time. I just wanted to share a little bit of my story with y'all, and let everyone know that I'm glad there are still people who care" - AJ McLeod

"I am the co-coordinator for the Hamshire VFD distribution center for our community that was totally devastated by Hurricane Harvey. We are south of Houston. I live in Hamshire, Texas. I'm a teacher but my house was one of the few that did not get damaged out of thousands. My three children and I showed up at the fire station and started an awesome distribution center and I now have 25 volunteers helping me out. Thanks for the love, Sevenly!"

"Thank you for offering the Texas together shirts as a discount for the people that helped out. I am in the Coast Guard and my husband is a police officer and we will be so proud to wear these shirts. Thank you again!" - Cassandra Tidden

"Thank you, thank you for running a shirt promotion that gives 100% back! So many didn't have flood insurance, they lost their jobs, their barber shops, their schools, their churches, their neighbors. With help and support and confidence we can rebuild!" - Chandra

"Thank goodness there are these many people to celebrate and inspire us and the whole country too, Sevenly! Love this organization!!!! My sister in law and my brother are there doing what they can to help! My sister in law made me cry when she said that Friday she was not able to help because she was too scorched from the sun and had to stay home. But Saturday, both were there again helping." -Lena
