Celebrating World Refugee Day with World Relief

Celebrating World Refugee Day with World Relief

Al's life was turned upside down when violence and rebellion took over his town in Iraq. His mother a Dentist, and his Father a Machine Owner, their life quickly needed a change when the medical clinic was burned to the ground, and multiple kidnapping attempts were made towards Al.

After a long 4 year process, Al's family was finally granted refugee status, and flew to Chicago, IL where they'd be placed in a new home. Soon after, Al was placed in a job where he grew a passion for engineering.

With the help of World Relief, Al was able to attend college and receive his degree in Automated Manufacturing Technology. Today, he works as a Design Engineer and a College Instructor.

Starting a new life, in a new country, not knowing a single person, and having limited knowledge of the language was quite the challenge upon arriving in the U.S.A., but Al is grateful to know that his family is safe, and that there are endless possibilities for his new life as an American citizen.

Sevenly is grateful to collaborate with World Relief in providing support and opportunities for refugees like Al, so that their life can be filled with hope and promise, after facing much worry and doubt. Shop Sevenly's Stand With Refugees Collection, #BecausePeopleMatter.
