This weekend Travis Scott took the stage at E11EVN Miami during Miami Race Week and thoughtfully used the opportunity to flex the next iteration of his longstanding Nike partnership.

Perched beneath the cuff of his sweeping skater denim were a reimagined Nike Mac Attack, a nearly forgotten silhouette of 1984 made popular by American tennis player John McEnroe.

In his heyday McEnroe was one of tennis’ bad boys, and was the first player to be disqualified from the Australian Open for misconduct. McEnroe has made disparaging comments against Blacks, Chinese, and women tennis players — yes, even Serena.

Here’s a rundown if you're messy like me.

Tie-in to McEnroe be damned, the Mac Attack never lost favor among vintage sneaker enthusiasts, and was the canvas for a Social Studies collaboration revealed back in March.

Scott’s pair don the OG’s silver and black colorway and naturally sport the rapper’s signature reverse Swoosh. Some rumors suggest the pair were a 1 of 1 and won’t be released, while others suggest a Summer ‘23 timing.

Stay tuned for deets and drop a comment with your thoughts on the design.
