Body Mists are Coming Back and Yes, That's the Sound of the Four Horseman You Hear

Not sure exactly why we all wanted to smell like frosting in the early aughts, but we did. We were all glittery, shimmery, confections with body mists to match. Even typing this I can smell Victoria’s Secret’s Love Spell or my personal favorite Pear Glacé. And we won’t even venture into Bath & Body Works’ collection of scents like Juniper Breeze and Cucumber Melon. Like, did we all have no taste at all?

Brace yourself, body mists are back.

#bodymists have over 300 million views on TikTok, but its worth mentioning that they’re a little different than how they were before. Instead of a lighter (and cheaper) version of your favorite scent, they seem to be marketing themselves as mid-day refreshers that are more appropriate for the warmer months.

Some are merely body scents from our favorite hair and beauty products, such is the case with Morrocanoil body mist which smells just like the oil so you can get the vibes even when you may not be reaching for its hair counterpart.

Other new-age body sprays or body mists are moreso designed for layering over its perfume counterpart midday, a subtle way to enhance fragrance without going overboard. (Especially useful if you work in an office where a full reapplication would be obvious.)
