Prodigy! Marsai Martin Somehow Makes Being a Clinique Ambassador Sound Cool

If she's an ambassador, I wanna be an ambassador, too.

No shade to Clinique who has quite a few effective products in its roster, but somehow when I think of celebrity ambassadorship I think of perpetuating the impossible notion that you’re devoted to this brand and this brand only.

My mind goes immediately to the celebrities in contracts with luxury design houses and have to wear their frocks ad nauseam, or anyone promoting a non-iPhone then undoubtedly seen with an iPhone peeking out of their back pockets for the paps to see. (Remember the Alicia Keys Blackberry thing?)

Actress, producer, and all-around cool girl Marsai Martin is breathing new life into Clinique, and not just as a pretty face. She’ll be taking on the brand’s first ever dual role, where she serves as a pseudo creative director to her content, something Martin is more than qualified to do — she is, after all the youngest executive producer on a major Hollywood production.

President of Global Brands Clinique and Origins at Estée Lauder Michelle Freye broke it down like this:

We’re introducing with her a new model of brand partnership where she’s collaborating with us, and she’s going to have a significant impact on creative output on all campaigns that feature her. We are looking at it as a pivot from other traditional beauty campaigns to meet her where she is as a more authentic self.

Stay tuned to view her series of campaigns and content as it rolls out this summer.
