It’s been a long time since we purchased ringtones for our Nokia brick phones, tbh most people leave their phones on vibrate at this point.
I’d like to propose that there’s still power in the ringtone.
Everyone I interact with regularly has their own ringtone, which indicates how quickly I need to run for the phone. My friend who tells a story as 29 three-word messages gets a tiny ping, my friend who calls me early in the morning during her commute gets a loud chime to wake me up, but for men I have a completely different, tiered system.
New friends get something flirty, FWBs get horns to wake me up with late night messages, but if anyone wrongs me they get the Bark.
The bark ringtone reminds me to proceed with attitude. I’d hate to accidentally be nice because I don’t necessarily remember their specific transgression, the bark ringtone reminds me, “Hey give him Personality B.” (You can probably guess what the B stands for…)
I’d also like to note that its absolutely hilarious when your girls hear your phone barking. Trust me, without even reading this they’ll put 2 and 2 together.
